Corruption of the Flesh

Today I will be speaking on a topic that is considered nowadays as an untouchable subject, at least in society and the political scene, especially if what you say about it isn’t flattering. Even the Church seems divided on the subject for some unapparent reason, because those within the church who accept it do so not out of selflessness but selfishness. I speak not to those in the World for God will judge them, but I speak to the Church for they would rather not be looked upon by the World as intolerant and possibly lose members, or could it even be that they don’t want to lose their tax exempt status. I think at times the Church fear Man more than it fears God. What man can do is but for a short time, but what God can do is for eternity (Matthew 10:28 “And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.”). Let us get started with this controversial topic.

Years ago homosexuality was considered a mental disorder and as time went on it began to be viewed differently by society and by today it is seen as a common everyday lifestyle. Also homosexuality changed from a lifestyle that was kept behind closed doors to being shoved into your face with a fanaticism of religious zealots. It is no longer an attitude of live and let live but one of you MOST accept my way of life and if you don’t then you’re homophobic and a hater. Today it is so bad that the rights of those individuals are more important than the rights of others. I grow tired of hearing the term homophobic as if somehow if you do not agree with the way they live their life then you are afraid of them, which that is what having a phobia is. If they mean that you dislike them or disagree with them than they are misrepresenting the word phobia to create a false atmosphere of hate, as to target and label all those that disagree with them. I will not now nor ever accept their lifestyle as being acceptable before God. Let the World do as they may, but like Joshua said many moons ago, as for me and my household we shall serve the LORD.

The World may do as it pleases for it is and never will be any part of the Kingdom of Heaven, but the Church on the other is judged by how they live their lives and handle things that pertain to Godly life. The Church again oversteps its authority when it changes the Laws of God; in their own minds that is, because the Church has NO authority in overruling and changing any of God’s Laws. Just as the religious leaders of Christ’s time, they are doing the same thing, by placing themselves in God’s position and making all new Laws they continue to oppose more and more God’s own Laws. Since the Church for the most part likes to use the New Testament and letters from Paul to justify their wrong-doings, such as saying that God has no problem if you decide to eat anything you want (Acts 10:1-28) or that it doesn’t matter what day you observe as the Sabbath (Romans 14:1-5). Oh, and by the way I will have to check my other sermons and notes to see if I have spoken on those other two subjects and if not maybe it is time to do so as well.

I will use the New Testament to point out to those that have accepted homosexuality within the Church that they are wrong, plain and simple. In the Book of Romans you will find what you need to know when it comes to what people call the lifestyle of homosexuality. Romans 1:21-32 covers that topic quite well, even though there appears to be debate within the Church on this subject. Those that live the life as homosexuals have made themselves gods in their own eyes for they have taken what God has created one way and completely turned it around. Also, Paul says that these individuals though knowing God, have become vain and have darkened their hearts because of their foolishness; while science professing that they know why people are homosexuals, thinking they are wise, are but fools. The vainness and foolishness of man is so extraordinary that they try to make God in their image and not the other way around. They are trying to lower God to their level and not to raise themselves up to His standards of living. They quickly forget that it is us that enter into the Kingdom of Heaven and not the other way around. If we are to enter then we need to abide by God’s Laws not our own.

Homosexuality, as Paul puts it, is a perversion of what is natural into something vile. Paul also points out that they have a reprobate mind (morally depraved mind). Because they choose to not do anything about it, but continue to lust after their desires; for this they are given over to that life and they will receive recompense for their action and that reward in the end is death. I will not sugar-coat the subject or the reward that those individuals that choose to continue their own way of life in opposition to God’s way of life. It goes back to the fact that it is us that will enter the Kingdom of Heaven and to do so we need to do what is needed to enter and not for God to change so as to allow us in. Those within the Church that choose to support the life style of homosexuality or those that live it and say to themselves “God knows my heart, He loves me and accepts me for who I am” are fooling themselves. Would those same people say the same thing about alcoholics, pedophiles, drug addicts or pornography addicts and say that it is ok that they keep doing what they are doing because “God knows your heart and loves you”? Remember the saying “The road to hell is paved with good intentions”.

This is but one topic that the Church has dropped the ball on in helping people out. Rather than praying for them and helping show them the way of life that God desires for them to live. What we face here is nothing compared to the reward we will receive for being obedient to His Word. I am not saying that it will be easy, for it isn’t easy for anyone that lives in this World to live according to God’s Word. I am not talking about the way of life of most “Christians”, because even they don’t live a life worthy of entering Heaven. We strive to live a perfect and holy life by the example that Jesus left us and you know where that got him, crucified. Do not think our journey through this life is going to be easier. If you try to take the easy way out you will find yourself on the broad and spacious way leading off to destruction. Anything worth having is worth working for. I must say Heaven is definitely worth it. Ask yourself if Heaven is worth going through all that believers face and shall face in the future till the coming of Jesus Christ.

Romans 1:21-32 “Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.[22] Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,[23] And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.[24] Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:[25] Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.[26] For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:[27] And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.[28] And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;[29] Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,[30] Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,[31] Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:[32] Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”
