Too
Little, Too Late Part 1
Did
you know that Christians have found the fountain of youth? It has been secretly
hidden from its members, but those same members have been partaking of it for
centuries without even knowing it. On the outside they may appear as though
they are growing old to everyone else, including themselves, but internally
they are still babies. In a way the majority of Christians are big babies
living in a world that they cannot truly understand, because of being babies.
They aimlessly wonder around exploring the world, putting all kinds of things
into their mouths, getting into trouble and causing harm to themselves without
knowing why. One of the problems and the biggest is that those that are
supposed to be mature have slackened on the job of helping them grow-up and
become adults. Now after centuries of neglect it has become such a problem that
it cannot be hidden any longer and those of today that have the job of helping
to raise these newborns are now realizing a little late that by keeping the
babies on milk for so long has caused far more harm than good.
In
2013 I did a sermon on Milk and Meat that dealt with this issue, but I am not
only reiterating it again because it needs to be, but I am going to speak
directly on one of the core problems that has been feed to the flock for so
long that all that is pretty much left out there is a whole lot of malnutrition
lambs. The Shepherds have done such a poor job in feeding their sheep correctly
that they may be in fear of losing their flock to other Shepherds willing to
continue to feed the sheep milk, or what the sheep think they want to hear.
They, meaning the Shepherds, have created such a problem that it may be
impossible for it to be corrected before Jesus returns and all those that find
themselves unable to enter heaven their blood will be on the hands of all these
Shepherds.
I
will try to stay on topic since it is easy to go off onto other things that are
connected to what I will be speaking on. The message that has been preached
throughout the ages and just as fervently today is for people to come to know
Jesus. We do want people to know and accept him as the Messiah, the Lamb of
God, the son of the Living God our redeemer and our salvation. The problem
arose when the Shepherds (Preachers, Pastor, Evangelists, etc.) that were
preaching about Christ and drawing people to the churches dropped the ball by
not expounding on what it truly meant to accept and follow Christ.
While
they are all busy tickling ears and telling everyone the “good” news they
intentionally or not leave out what it TRULY means to accept Christ into one’s
life. Just say this simple prayer with me and you will be saved nothing more
nothing less; that’s the message of the churches nowadays. Actually I think
they don’t even feed their sheep milk, they feed them skim milk. If it were
that simple than all that Jesus preached about is pretty much worthless. He
tells those that would follow him what they can expect to happen to them in
their life, but you don’t see much of that going on except for in areas of the
world that are more of another religion. In the areas that are mainly Christian
you can’t tell the difference between them and the World and why is that? All
do to the fact of the watering down of the message of salvation.
I
am not sure if they are afraid that people would be scared away from churches
if they knew or were given the truth. So, they continue to hand out milk. Will
accepting Jesus save your life from the second death? Yes and No, because it’s
not that cut and dry. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life (John 14:6) and the problem is that
Jesus’s Way, Truth and Life are not being preached, it’s just Jesus and nothing
else. Jesus’s way leads to truth that in the end leads us to life everlasting.
If you’re not on the right path then you’re not walking in truth and you will
not end up with life everlasting.
What
is Jesus’s way? Let me see, how did Jesus live his life? And does your life
mirror his? Let us break down Jesus’ life some. Jesus lived the word of God in
that he observed the clean and unclean, he observed the Holy Days, he went on
the Sabbath (not Friday like the Muslim or Sunday like todays Christians) and
he wanted people to know his Father as he did. Do you do these things? If not
then how can one know the truth if they are unwilling to follow the way? This
may seem harsh to some, but this isn’t something that we should be joking
around with. Our choices have serious implications and we need to start taking
it seriously. We have been feed the milk so long that the truth sounds
offensive and the truth is the only way we will make it. It is up to the
Shepherd to lead the sheep to Gods Kingdom is he truly cares about them.
As
we begin to mirror our lives after Jesus than we will be able to more fully understand
and comprehend his message even more. His way of life isn’t a burden but a
blessing for being obedient to his Father. We will be blessed for our obedience
as well and part of that blessing is the ability to understand his message. His
Way will lead us to the Truth of God’s word and that Truth will lead us closer
to God, which in turn will lead to our everlasting life (John 5:24). Is that such a hard thing to do, for us to change our
lives to mirror the life of the one that came and died for us to deliver us
from OUR sin? Is being obedient to
God a terrible thing to do, or are we so self-centered that we are willing to
condemn ourselves just to live the way that WE want to? Looking at the way of the world it is as plain as day
that OUR way is definitely not the
right way.
Going
back to where I ask if by accepting Jesus would it save your life and I
answered Yes and No. It will save our life if we are
willing to follow his Way. Is his way easy to follow? Yes if we want to follow
it. Is it easy for people to find? No, Jesus shares with us that it is not easy
to find the Way and those that do find it are few (Matthew 7:13-14). If his way is easy to follow than why is it hard
to find? That comes down to our choice of opening our eyes to how he lived
obediently to his Father or closing them so as to say to ourselves “He died so
I don’t have to do any of that stuff”.
By
their own teachings the Shepherds are lowering the standard that God has put
into place to enter heaven. They like to appease the flock by mentioning
scriptures that God is love (1 John 4:8,
16) and that He doesn’t want to see anyone perish (Matthew 18:14). They even like to use the pacifier that “we are
all going to heaven” and from what are being taught out there in the churches
or on the radio it would appear to be true, but false hope or ignorance will
not be enough to enter His Kingdom and many people forget that it is His
Kingdom and not ours (Matthew 6:10).
Samuel and Solomon understood that besides Love God also wanted other things
that were just as important and they are Obedience, Justice and Judgment (1 Samuel 15:22; Proverbs 21:3).
Getting
back to the main topic of the milk and the watering down of even that, we find
ourselves today in a predicament that may be impossible to fix. We are looking
at generations of Christians brought up on milk and in some cases skim milk
that now when the Shepherds see the error of what has been preached, of course
not the error of their way, it is almost impossible to now try and show to the
flock what truly needs to be done. This is but one of the corner stones of
Jesus’s message that has been corrupted. Next time I will cover another
essential corner stone that again the Shepherds out there have been slow to
correct and even then it may be too little, too late.
