Babel
2.0
With
us studying about Revelation and all the events that could and will be
unfolding in the world, I starting to think about the Tower of Babel. For me
the most interesting fact about the Tower of Babel is found in verse six of
chapter eleven of Genesis. Because the people had one language it is said that
there is nothing that they could not do that they imagined to do. Those are
very powerful words that The Almighty had spoken. To sum it up, it means that
if you could possibly get most of the people to gather under one language and
they focused on something that they have imagined that they could accomplish
it.
Back
in the days of the Tower of Babel the people had one language. But they also
had something else, they had a common goal. They feared that they would be
scattered abroad away from one another, so they set forth an idea to form a
central seat of power and through that they could do what they wanted. I
started to think on what today could be possibly a close second to the Tower of
Babel. I thought about the English language, because it seems to be a commonly
used worldwide language. There is also, if I remember correctly, the Mandarin
Chinese language that is spoken by the largest population of people. The
problem with both of those is that near brings together the majority of the
world under a common and uniting language.
There
is but only one language that can and one day could be used to accomplish what
the idea behind the Tower of Babel. What language today is being used by the
majority of the world and appears to be growing by the day? Many use it without
even thinking about it or even understanding the language, yet they still take
advantage of it. It is used by most if not all nationalities today and brings
many together for good and bad. Today the language of the Tower of Babel is
computer programing, which goes back to the Binary Code of ones and zeroes.
This
is the most unifying language since the Tower of Babel. It brings people
together from all walks of life, cultures and nationalities like no other
language in the world. It is also the language behind the workings of a lot of
everyday life activities. Though I talk lightly about how you can’t believe
everything you see online, but the sad part is that a lot of people do. One day
this language could be used to enflame people against the People of The
Almighty to hunt them down and kill them or even enslave the masses by
controlling who can buy or sell and the whole time the masses go along with it
without a second thought. It is already used to punished countries and
individual people through freezing of assets or blackballing them so that
others will be unwilling to have anything to do with them.
More
and more is the world becoming dependent upon the workings of computers to the
point that if something happened to computers; so that they no longer worked it
would be worse than a nuclear war for most people. I just pray that the
followers of The Almighty do not grow so attached to this system as to affect
their lives if they cannot get online and check their emails, face book or any
other social media app.
Genesis 11:1-9 “And the whole earth was of one language, and of one speech.[2] And it came to pass, as they journeyed from the east, that they found a plain in the land of Shinar; and they dwelt there.[3] And they said one to another, Go to, let us make brick, and burn them throughly. And they had brick for stone, and slime had they for morter.[4] And they said, Go to, let us build us a city and a tower, whose top may reach unto heaven; and let us make us a name, lest we be scattered abroad upon the face of the whole earth.[5] And the LORD came down to see the city and the tower, which the children of men builded.[6] And the LORD said, Behold, the people is one, and they have all one language; and this they begin to do: and now nothing will be restrained from them, which they have imagined to do.[7] Go to, let us go down, and there confound their language, that they may not understand one another's speech.[8] So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city.[9] Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth.”
